Four days before my 50 birthday I was fired from my dream job (together with more than 2000 people, but that was no consolation). You could say I moved on. I studied Literary Translations and relocated to Paris to live my own literary and writing adventure. But the pain of losing that job is still there
Appreciate your thoughts on ageism in the industry! I have found groups like Women's Media Group and Bay Area Women in Publishing to be a refuge from those dynamics. For me, both groups have been a place where mentorship works back and forth across the generations and women join forces and gather inspiration and support from each other in diverse ways.
