I know it totally varies but what’s the range of prices you tend to see quoted? I haven’t spoken to publicists yet so i don’t have a ballpark idea. (Not committing you to anything!) just curious what your low end and high end have been, or you’ve seen

The high end is $7K per month or about $35-40K. The low end is harder to gauge. It could be $3500 per month, $3500 per campaign, $5000 per campaign. I'd say a good place to start is $3500.

Very helpful! And how about campaign time range? If it’s for a book launch, I’m guessing that could range from 1 month to 6 months? (Depending on what ppl are willing to pay for)

For a launch at least 4 months before the publication date. One month is way to short notice. In total, I usually work with people for about 5-6 months.

We work for 6 months and charge $5,000 minimum. If they want podcasts and infleuncer reach out we charge $7,500. We specialize in broadcast TV so our rates tend to be a bit highter.

This is such a fantastic, step-by-step overview. I'm really debating whether or not to hire a freelance publicist when my debut novel publishes with a small press next year. This guide has me thinking that I can at least research some publicists and see what they could possibly offer, should I choose to go down that road...
