You are too good to us. Thank you for this, thank you so much. Already, your newly-acquired MBA is going the distance. I can feel added confidence coming through here, and it's so awesome. I really like all of your suggestions for future panels. (The issue that still gets to me--given my own publishing journey--is how so many of the contracts for writers are terrible and need vast improvement as far as getting writers more money and exposure.)
"A panel about how SEO is changing because of AI and how it affects book marketing and publicity."
This really hit home because my first book is going to have an incredibly generic, IMO boring title. I had several really cool ones I suggested but the publisher said "nope, we're going with this generic thing because it plays better for SEO and Amazon listings." Fine, I guess. They are a small publisher and people need to be able to find stuff easily, but it did break my heart a little
I am not a published author (yet), I am a copywriter who works with authors. Whenever I attend a book event like this I am also surprised by this! Which is a kind way of saying I am also rolling my eyes.
Thanks so much for writing about our panel. Yahdon is AMAZING
You're welcome! You were all super impressive!

Thank you. Specific and helpful, and that takes work. I appreciate it.
Thanks for sharing! So interesting, especially for those of us who don't have access to these fora!
BRATS! That trailer was like a wildfire in all my group chats last week!
A panel of the “disconnect with the word Independent in publishing” would be fascinating

I am working on an in-depth piece about this, which will come out next week. It's really complex, but I'm going to break it down.
Those who claim not to have a personal brand would hopefully admit to having a “reputation”
They didn’t do that, either! Lots of eye-rolling from me.
