I wish I would have caught your post before the High Impact event. My wife is wanting to do Ted Talks along with pursuing her book ideas. I will share this with her. Very informative, thank you.

That WSJ article about the top 10% of earners was fascinating. I do wonder about which titles those 10% buy…. for example, the clientele that shops at Athena Books in Old Greenwich (a great bookstore!)

Thanks for the macro perspective and connecting the CCI to publishing. When I was still publishing, we saw it in our company always..the immediate downturn in sales when the news was bad and there were extended periods of general distress.

Might I recommend The Paris Agency on Netflix? Utterly enchanting! This series follows the Kretz family—a quintessentially French clan of property specialists with an enviable portfolio of apartments that had me mentally redecorating my living room within minutes.

The family dynamic is wonderfully genuine, with Olivier and Sandrine leading their brood through the competitive Parisian market with effortless flair. And yes, I must confess, the brothers—particularly Martin and Valentin—are rather disarmingly handsome in that unmistakably French way. 🔥

But what truly captivated me were the apartments themselves: soaring ceilings, herringbone parquet floors, and balconies overlooking the Seine. Each property reveals something of the Parisian aesthetic—at once timeless and contemporary. The juxtaposition of 18th-century moldings with sleek, modern kitchens? Simply divine.

THANK YOU. And could not agree more with your Younger take as I settle into my first re-watch (I watched for the first time right before I got my first publishing job, now I'm watching 5.5 years later and it is a TRIP).

Thank you for this! I'm getting ready to have the "marketing and publicity plan" convo with my publisher, and it's so helpful to have these big picture perspectives to inform what I want to bring to the conversation.
